Course Description

A one-day taster course.   10.30-4.00pm in the workshop at Kingston University Knights Park campus.

An opportunity to learn the basic skills of forging.    Tuition is provided at beginner level structured around the hot working of metal. The traditional skills of the blacksmith: hammer techniques, punching, splitting, twisting, bending and forge welding form the basic background of the session

 Starting with a demonstration of the basic skills and techniques.  The course will be taught by Product Designer, William Rodriguez, who will be leading the course.   Students are then given the opportunity to ‘have a go’. Everyone will develop at their own individual pace, producing their own piece of work to take home at the end of the day.
