Course Description

The programme provides an inspiring and interactive platform for undergraduate and recent graduate students of architecture and the built environment by participating in this 2-week comprehensive summer programme dedicated to the theme of Architecture and Landscape in Climate Emergency. 

The programme will introduce participants to a range of subjects, from urban considerations of planning and landscape design to technical design of buildings in response to the global climate emergency. It will also facilitate an excellent hands-on experience to participants through interactive lectures, field trips and project work, emphasising a balanced approach to environmental, socio-economic and technical aspects of net zero carbon design of the built environment.

Guest speakers from renowned London practices will be involved including Skidmore Owens and Merrill (SOM), Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA), and Roger Stirk Harbour and Partners (RSH+P). The summer school includes a trip to Bath and Stonehenge, the Olympic Park and a number of low-zero carbon projects in London.
